It’s Monday, and it’s kind of a dreary, semi-rainy start to the week here in NYC.  One of those mornings where no one seems to have any of their usual vibrant, street-swagger.  It’s definitely a 3 cup morning.

As I scanned through the usual stack of “industry and information” emails that may or may not pique my curiosity, I found this wonderful, bright piece of news.

Of course seeing the brand My Little Pony caught my attention. I worked on the brand many years ago at a terrific agency, focused on “kids”, called Griffin Bacal (it was bought by Omnicom in the 90’s and mostly absorbed into DDB). It was magical, as we worked on Play-Doh, Ringling and lots of other great products from companies like Hasbro.

Flash forward to this morning…

My how My Little Pony has changed!  My Little Pony, a brand that was always quirky and fun, is striding back into our lives – re-emerging with a makeover anyone with a heart for fashion would absolutely swoon over.  Wait, it gets even better, Pony is cloaked in amazing designs from the like of Fendi and Kenzo and hanging out in Florence, Italy no less.  Happy horseshoes!

Italian department store Luisa Via Roma is teaming up with toymaker Hasbro (the maker of My Little Pony), all to benefit the Make Kids Happy auction, coinciding with the retailer’s biannual Firenze4ever fashion event.  And not only that, it’s for a great cause, Save the Children’s efforts to help youth affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal.

Check out this very happy video, it brought back my swagger without the 3rd cup!
